Observation
The question was attempted by few candidates excitingly and interestingly. The few candidates that attempted the question performed fairly. The following points were expected from the candidates’ to obtain the maximum marks:
1. DRAWING QUALITY
(a) Accurate drawing of a young female model sitting on an armless
plastic chair.
(b) Accurate drawing of the model with legs crossed.
(c) Accurate drawing of the piece of cloth on the laps of the model.
(d) Accurate drawing of the model stitching.
2. TONE/COLOUR
(a) Effective shading to depict the young female model sitting on
an armless plastic chair.
(b) Accurate indication of the source of light in the composition.
(c) Ability to create the correct feeling in the composition.
3. COMPOSITION
(a) Centrality of the composition on the paper.
(b) Balanced pose of the model according to instruction.
(c) Use of paper to advantage (at least ¾ of the paper).
(d) Indication of base line and background.
4. ORIGINALITY
(a) Showing effective personalized style of work.
(b) Showing effective use of art materials (colour, pencil, pen and ink).
