Observation
The question attracted many candidates. The performance was very good. They were expected to respond to the question thus:
1. DRAWING QUALITY
(a) Accurate drawing of a low table against the wall.
(b) Accurate drawing of an uprooted cassava tuber on the table.
(c) Accurate drawing of the cassava stems and leaves.
2. TONE/COLOUR
Ability to use tone/colour to:
(a) depict the forms of the low table against the wall.
(b) show the correct source of light on the objects.
(c) create the correct feeling of unity in the composition.
3. COMPOSITION
(a) Centrality of the drawing on the paper to create a good image.
(b) Proportional relationship of parts of the drawing on the paper.
(c) Use of working space to advantage i.e. (drawing not too small or too big).
(d) Indication of appropriate base line.
4. ORIGINALITY
(a) Showing effective drawing skill and personalized style.
(b) Showing effective use of art materials (colour, pencil, charcoal, pen and ink).
