Candidates were required to make two lapped dovetail joints.  They were expected to mark out the dovetail with the correct bevels.   A dovetail marker or sliding bevel is required to get the correct angle.  Most candidates followed the correct procedure and they were able to make the joints correctly without the joints being torn or split.
Each candidate’s final workpiece was to have tails (8 pitches, 2 sides, 6 shoulders), and sockets (8 sides, 4 ends, 4 bottoms and fitness of two joints).
