A  good number of candidates were attracted to this question. However, most of  their attempts were partial, as most candidates answered the (a) component, neglecting the (b)  component. The few that attempted the (b) component could not link colour  theory to Sir.                         it aids communication. 
                        it creates emotional  feeling. 
                        it is used for  decoration. 
                        it gives the real  appearance of an object. 
                        it gives pigment its  primary identity/characteristics. 
                        it attracts attention. 
                        It is used in sports. 
                        It is used for traffic  control. 
                         The  discovery of colour 
                          It was discovered by  Sir Isaac Newton (2 marks). 
                          In 1660, Isaac Newton  discovered that when a beam of white light is passed through a prism and is  reflected into a white screen, the light is broken down in the spectrum colours  i.e. Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Indigo and Violet (ROYGBIV).
