Most of the candidates performed poorly in questions 1 and 2 because they involve calculations.  The candidates who attempted question 4 could not sketch the drive arrangement of a conventional motor vehicle proportionally.  Most of the candidates could not identify the single-plate clutch assembly as asked in question 5.  It seems competent teachers are lacking in most schools.  Well trained teachers should be employed to teach the students in order to improve their performances.
