General Comments



The candidates have improved on the identification of good quality canned foods and points to consider in purchasing food in bulk which is question 4b. Generally, the candidates' strengths include questions 1,2,4 and6. These were on functions of vitamins and minerals in the body, reasons for preserving
food, causes of food decay, points to consider when bottling fruits and purchasing in bulk.
Their strengths also include advantages of supermarket, advantages of experimental cookery and ways of bringing varieties into root vegetable meals.
