Candidates were weak in the use of French grammar.   Most of them did not grasp the correct use of French verbs. The verbs were wrongly conjugated and used.

      SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT

(1)    To improve  on candidates' performance, teachers  of French should be more involved in the teaching of the basic grammatical structures at each lesson.

(2)    They should ensure that thstudents are well drilled in French verbs.

(3)   Teachers should encourage the students to read simple French stories, magazines and journals to acquire more vocabulary.
