Factors that  affect the choice of cooking method was poorly answered with comments like the  type of nutrient, and the method of heating e.g. radiation etc instead of  health condition.
                    In 6(b), many  were able to distinguish between Lacto and Strict vegetarian, but they did not  link the answers with ‘while’ thus made them to loose some marks.
                    Reason for  being a vegetarian was well attempted. 
                    The required  answers to the questions are as follows:

(a) Difference between Lacto and strict  vegetarians
Strict vegetarians – do not eat animal flesh and  its products. They get their protein from plant, while
                    (b)  Lacto  vegetarians – do not eat animal flesh but they eat the products like milk,  cheese etc.
                    Notes: If  the two sentences are not connected by ‘while’ or “but”, the candidate loose ½  mark.
                     (c) Reasons  for being a vegetarian
                    
                      - High  cost of meat, fish and other animal products may cause people to cut them off  their diet completely.
- Problems  of ill health that might prevent some people from eating animal flesh or its  products.
- Aesthetic  belief, that is, dislike of the idea of animals being killed for food/Personal  decision.
- Cult  practices which prevent people of the group from eating flesh and its products.
- Religious  or customary taboos may prevent people or tribes from eating animal flesh as  food.
