Candidates' performance was poor because most of them could not analyze the
character of Style as a symbol of black liberation in the play. Majority of the candidates
just scratched at the question without emphasizing Styles' decision and steps to reject
the apartheid system. He tries to liberate the blacks through his ability to establish a
studio which serves as a rallying point where blacks douse their tension and feel free.
Style is a character that stands for the opposite of what the apartheid system desires for
the black man.
The candidates' performance was poor as most candidates failed to meet the demands
of the question.
