Discuss the sun as a symbol of hope in 'The Sun on this Rubble


Most candidates could not indicate the significance of the 'sun' in the poem. The
suffering at Sharpeville massacre disposes them to the slightest chance of relief which
the 'sun' symbolizes by shining on the 'rubble' of the people's lives. This indicates hope
that one day there will be a change and they would be happy and free.
