To what extent is the society in the novel presented as male dominated?

showing where women were maltreated by men.

In Ibuza society, women are physically, spiritually, emotionally and
psychologically brutalized and traumatized.  Men are lords and male children are
more valuable than the female.
Most candidates that attempted this question faired better even though some centered their discussion on Nnu-Ego, the heroine, others discussed this from other instances in the novel.
