Candidates responded to this question wrongly. Many of the candidates cannot differentiate identify the components of the piano and this made them to lose substantial marks. The following are some of the points expected from the candidates:

(a)        Bartolomeo Cristofori                                                
           
(b)        Strings, Keyboard, hammer, pedals, board, iron-frame, lever, action,
jack.                                                                            
           
(c)        (i)         it should be tuned regularly.
(ii)        it should be properly kept in a room to prevent rapid temperature change or humidity affecting it.
(iii)       it should be regularly cleaned of dust and dirt.
(iv)       it should be prevented from damage by rats, cockroaches, lizards etc.

it should be covered with a damp cloth for exterior preservation of body.
