Some candidates showed remarkable weaknesses in the following areas:

1. construction of curve of intersection;
2. cylinder development;
3. link work mechanism;
4. construction of isometric circles;
5. observing the lowest point in any given construction;
6. lack of adequate knowledge of the British Standard specification on drawing;
7. inadequate knowledge of the topics under examination.

SUGGESTED REMEDY FOR OVERCOMING THE WEAKNESS

Candidates are advised to practice drawing regularly.
