The standard of the paper compared favourably with those of the previous years. The topics covered in the questions were within the context of the syllabus and the Marking Scheme was detailed, concise and comprehensive. There was a remarkable improvement in the performance of the candidates when compared with those of the previous years. This may have resulted from the greater attention given to life drawing over object and nature drawing, contrary to the practice in the past when it was vice versa.
