In this question, candidates were required to

  1. State points to consider when selecting and serving beverages.
  2. Highlight characteristics of alcoholic beverages.

 

Observation

 

Almost all the candidates that attempted this question got it wrongly and obtained low scores. The candidates were not able to state the points to consider when selecting and serving beverages. The expected answers are the nutritional need of the individual, the time of the day, the health condition of the individual, the weather conditions of the place, the type of work done by the individual, the age of the individual. The candidates could not also answer correctly the characteristics of alcoholic beverages. The expected answers for the characteristics include contain fermented sugar, nutritive value is low, have strong flavor/strong beverage.
