(c)State two merits and two demerits of a compression ignition engine.
Observation
Most of the candidates who attempted this question had difficulties in providing the required responses to parts (a) and (b) of the question. The required responses to these parts are:
(a) V - Fuel tank or tank
W - Lift pump or fuel pump
X - Fuel filter or filter
Y - Injector pump or injection pump
Z - Injector or atomizer
(b) To prevent water, sand and dirts from entering the injection pump which can cause corrosion and wear.
