Observation
This question was very difficult for the candidates as they were only able to provide the required response to part (c) of the question. The required responses to parts (a), (b) and (d) of the question are:

- Plunger type
- Rotor type or rotary pump

(d) How to change engine oil
- Ensure the vehicle is on a level and solid ground;
- Start engine and allow it to warm up;
- Switch off the engine;
- Place a drain pan under engine sump;
- Remove oil filler cap;
- Remove drain plug from the sump for oil to flow out;
- Remove oil filter from the engine;
- Fill a new oil filter with fresh oil and refit it to position;
- Replace sump drain plug;
- Refill sump with correct grade of new oil;
- Check oil level in sump with the dipstick;
- Start engine and allow it to run for few minutes;
- Switch engine off and recheck level of oil in sump with the dipstick;
- Top up engine oil if necessary.
