Candidates' Weakness

According to the report, the major weaknesses were identified in candidates’ responses to questions in the areas of ignition, charging and auxiliary system.

Suggested Remedies

It was suggested that, to correct these weaknesses:

• efforts should be made to expose the candidates to hands-on sessions to enable them appreciate the knowledge acquired in classroom;
• the subject should be handled by qualified and well-motivated teachers;
• Candidates should be given a degree of freedom to choose the trade subject of their choice depending on the availability or resources.
