(a)        A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES
                         It was observed that many of the candidates:
                          -           lacked knowledge and skill in  geometric construction;
                          -           failed to label and dimension their  drawings;
                          -           could not draw to the scales specified for the various views of the building.
                        (b)        SUGGESTED REMEDIES FOR OVERCOMING THESE WEAKNESSES
                        To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be well grounded in:
                          -           rudiments of geometric constructions  (i. e. construction of angles, arcs, tangents, polygons e. t. c.) with the aid  of drawing instruments;
                          -           various lettering styles used in  building;
                          -           proper methods of dimensioning  building drawing;
                          -           various scales used in building  drawing e. g. 1: 100 for floor plans and elevation;      1: 50 for sectional drawing; 1: 25 or 1:  10 for detailed drawing, 1: 250 for site or block plan e. t. c.

                          In addition, candidates should be given ample building drawing assignments in order to enhance their flexibility in drawing.
