The following shortcomings were observed from some candidates’ responses.
- Inability to read and interpret drawings;
- Inability to produce the drawing to the specified scales;
- Failure to label and dimension drawings.
To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be:
- given ample relevant drawing assignments and exposed
- well grounded in the rudiments of technical/architectural drawing which include the identification and use of various scales;
- made to have sufficient practice that will sharpen their lettering and dimensioning skills by pasting a poster or chart illustrating various lettering styles and dimension techniques in a conspicuous place in the drawing studio.
