However, many of them failed to List the six stages involved in testing a newly laid drain using the water test method
The expected response to question 3(a) is as given below:
Stages involved in testing a newly laid drain using the water test method:
- plug the lower end of the drain;
- fix 1.5m water head cistern to the pipe;
- fill to the required level
- leave it for about 2 hours and check the water level;
- top up the water when required;
check the levels again after an hour where drop of water observed is greater, the pipeline must be inspected for leakages.
