In question 6, candidates’ were required to state the term cover, state the characteristics of cover, list two table accompaniments necessary for every cover and give four examples of alcoholic beverage. Many candidates could not define a cover, instead of defining it as the place set for an individual diner; they defined it as table cloth or cover to lay on a table before service. Therefore, they were equally unable to give satisfactory answers to the characteristics of a cover and the table accompaniment required for every cover. However, candidates were able to give examples of alcoholic beverages.
