Candidate's Weakness

Some of the weaknesses observed in the candidates’ scripts are

-           Many candidates listed items instead of stating in questions 3, 5c, 6ii and 7b.
-           The arrangement of some candidates work was haphazard especially in question 8.
-           Many candidates failed to understand the expectation of some questions hence wrote off point.
-           Many candidates were very poor in the use of English to express themselves.
-           Candidates performed poorly in questions 4, 6 and 7.    

Suggested Remedies

1. The candidates should be encouraged to study standard and recommended text books on commerce in their preparation for the examination.
2. Teachers should be encouraged to teach students how to answer applied questions.
