General Comments
The Chief Examiner reported that the standard of the paper compared favourably to that of the previous year in terms of the concept tested and the skills measured. The questions were within the scope of the syllabus as well as the ability of the candidates. It was reported that the rubrics were clearly stated and the marking scheme was comprehensive.
The time allotted for the paper was adequate. The Chief Examiner also reported that candidates’ performance compared favourably with that of the previous year though slightly lower this year. The paper this year recorded raw mean score of 22 out of 30 and standard deviation of 6.71 as compared to WASSCE for School Candidates, 2022 which had a raw mean score of 14 out of 30 and standard deviation of 4.47. WASSCE for School Candidates, 2020 recorded a raw mean score of 19 out of 30 with standard deviation of 6.48.
