The standard of the paper compares very well with those of previous years. The composition section tests the usual writing skills: an informal letter to a parent, a formal letter to a school head, an article for publication, a debate and story writing. The subject for every topic was within the experience and competence of the candidates.
Generally, there was significant improvement in candidates’ performance.
CONCLUSION
Students of English Language should be exposed to questioning techniques
similar to the ones tested in their certificate examination and teachers should
also be exposed to regular training so as to enhance their performance and
ensure a more qualitative output
