Candidates' Weakness
The candidates’ major weakness was inability to interpret and answer questions correctly. They seemed to have little or no knowledge of the technicality of the subject. This was obvious in their misinterpretation of flatware in question 1(a) for flat shoes/slippers, place mats and trays; and in question 2c where they defined a waiter as ‘someone’ instead of a man that serves foods and beverages. Candidates further displayed lack of knowledge in question 3 where they gave series of inadequate definition to food packaging such as take away services at parties, packaging of food for picnics etc. Also, they did not know the correct name for packaging materials and they repeatedly referred to Styrofoam packs as disposable packs and take away packs.
To overcome the above weaknesses candidates should;
- strive to have in depth knowledge of the subject,
- study hard, prepare for examinations and also work on their command of English Language,
- invest in textbooks and learn the appropriate techniques of answering questions.
