OBSERVATION
In questions 5 (a) candidates were required to identify some items in the diagram of a basic cover for lunch and they were able to name them as follows:
I: Table/Dinner knife
II: Butter knife
III: Side plate
In 5 (b), candidates were expected to explain the term cover in table setting as the space / place in front of a diner OR a place set for one person but many of them explained that a cover is the item used for covering a dining table and stated examples such as table cover and table cloth.
In 5 (c) and (d), candidates were asked to list types of meal service and to state the importance of breakfast in the diet of an adolescent respectively. To these, they responded by listing plate service, buffet service, English service, tray service for 5 (c) and for 5 (d) they mentioned provides about half the daily nutrient requirement, provides energy for daily activities, makes the individual alert by making the brain function well /makes the brain active and sharp and helps the body restore needed nutrients after the night’s fast.
