- A body of mass 4kg placed at the top of a smooth plane is inclined at an angle of 35° to the horizontal slides from rest down the plane.If the plane is 300m long, calculate, correct to two significant figures, the speed of the body when it has travelled half the length of the plane.

An object falling from a tree passes through points P and Q with speeds 5.5m10ms-1 and 30.510ms-1 respectively. Find the:
- distance PQ.
- average speed of the object while falling from P to Q. [Take g = 10ms-2].
Observation
TThe Chief Examiner observed that candidates performed poorly in this question. However, they performed better in part (b) than in part (a).
Part (a) was based on inclined plane which was not popular among the candidates. The few that attempted it could not make meaningful presentation.
