The summary of candidates’ weaknesses were as follows:
- reading of substandard textbooks which prevented them from having indept knowledge of the topics;
- inadequate knowledge of current affairs which makes citing practical examples difficult;
- inadequate preparation for the examination;
- poor communication skill which prevented them from expatiating their points.
However, the identified weaknesses could be ameliorated if the:
- candidates endeavour to read standard Government textbooks and prepare adequately for the examination
- candidates broaden their knowledge of Current Affairs through reading news papers, magazines, journals, etc. This will also improve their usage of English Language;
- teachers should ensure that the entire Syllabus is covered before the examination;
- schools engage the services of qualified teachers to handle the subject.
