It was a very popular question as majority of the candidates attempted it. Majority of those that answered the question felt at home with its requirements as they listed the functions of the president as demanded by the
question. Although very few candidates did not expatiate their points, majority were able to do justice to the question and scored very good marks. This made the overall candidates' performance in the question good.
Some of the functions listed by the candidates to score good marks included:
assented to bills passed by the National Assembly;
appointed service chiefs;
controlled the civil service and other agencies of government;
initiated policies of government  could declare a state of emergency.
