This was another popular question as it was attempted by almost all the
candidates. The very good candidates gave their six points and scored very
high marks. However, the weak candidates were able to stumble on few
points and thereby scored low marks. The overall performance in the
question was average.
Some of the points expected from candidates included:
well equipped and corrupt-free law enforcement agencies;
no retrospective laws;
establishment of legal aid for the poor;
adherence to the principle of separation of powers and checks and balances;
an accused should be treated as innocent until he is found guilty by a
competent court of jurisdiction, etc
