This is also a question on phonology and candidates were required to explain fricatives with three examples in (3a), alveolars with three examples in (3b) and the voiceless with three examples in (3c). The following points are expected to be enumerated:

• Zuzau:

›  rage faxin mafitar iska;

• Xan hanci:

›  tsinin harshe kan tava hanqa;
›  samar da sautin /t/, /d/, /l/, /n/, /ts/, da sauransu.

• Baqi maras ziza:

                   ›  buxewar tantanin maqwallato;
›  ficewar iska ba tare da tangarxa ba;
›  samar da sautin /c/, /f/, /h/, /k/, /’y/, /qw/ da sauransu.

Candidates’ performance in this question was not impressive.
