This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair. In part (a)(i) candidates correctly identify the deficiency condition illustrated in the diagram and in (a)(ii) candidates could not correctly name the mineral deficiency that caused the condition in the diagram above. In part (b), candidates correctly named sources of food that can be taken to prevent the occurrence of the illustrated condition. In part (c), candidates could not name the hormone that is deficient in the illustrated condition. In part (d) candidates also correctly named the endocrine gland that produces the hormone.
