Observation

Many candidates attempted this question and their performance was fair. In part (a) they did fairly well. In part (b) majority of the candidates could not describe the first aid treatment given to a victim of electric shock.
The expected answers are as follow:

   (b)       DESCRIPTION OF FIRST AID TREATMENT GIVEN TO A VICTIM OF ELECTRIC SHOCK

• avoid touching the victim until safety is ensured
• disconnect the source of the power surge
• lie the victim down
• remove clothing around the victim
• elevate the legs
• give the victim artificial respiration if breathing seized
• at the sign of recovery, cover victim to maintain body heat
• if situation persist send the victim to hospital
