Observation
Majority of the candidates that attempted this question performed well in it. Many however could not explain how oral rehydration solution is prepared.\

(c) Preparation of the solution
- One litre of water is poured in a clean bowl
- Add ten teaspoonful of granulated sugar/five cubes of sugar
- Add one teaspoon of salt
- Each spoon should be levelled to avoid excess sugar/salt
- Mix the content with a spoon
(d) Usefulness of the solution
- It prevents dehydration/rehydrates the body
- It replenishes the body with lost electrolytes/salt/water
- It reduces diarrhoea/stooling
(e) The period the solution can last for
