Observation

This question demanded from the candidates to write on the established rules that spell out the ideal parent-child relationship. Candidates that chose this question tried their best by explaining the duties of parents towards their children and the vice versa. As wonderful as the given responses were, they lacked relevant quotations from the Qur’ān to buttress them. Apart from this, they also missed out some points such as it is the duty of the parents to give good names to their children, exclusive breastfeeding is the sole responsibility of the mother, children must obey and respect their parents, children should support and maintain their parents at old age. Besides, they should also pray for their parents during their life time and after their demise. In short, candidates’ performance was encouraging.
