Observation

The essential of a valid marriage in Islam was another popular question among the candidates. Most of the candidates that answered this question understood its demands and scored high marks.The question demanded from the candidates to give essential points for a valid marriage in Islam, thus:
Marriage (an-Nikāh) is the union between a man and a woman in line with the laid down principles of Islam.

• ijabwaqubul (offer and acceptance)
• wali(guardian)
• mahr/ saduqah(bridal gift/ dowry)
• shahiddaīn(twowitnesses) that is minimum of two witnesses is required, etc.
• marriage is the Sunnah of the Prophet (S.A.W) is prescribed for every mature Muslims, male or female who has the means
• celibacy is not allowed in Islam
• the mahr can be paid promptly or deferred
• the would- be- couple must not run foul of the prohibited degrees of marriage (Q.4:23)
