Weakness and Remedies.

(a)        A SUMMARY OF CANDIDATES’ WEAKNESSES

Most of the candidates did not attempt Section B of the paper (Design and Drawing) which carries 40 marks out of the 60 marks obtainable. This affected their general performance negatively. Seems the drawing paper required was not provided. A few candidates who attempted the paper did so on the question paper and this was not adequate for the requirement of the question.

(b)       SUGGESTED REMEDY FOR OVERCOMING THESE WEAKNESSES

Candidates should study design and drawing. Supervisors should ensure that the required drawing paper “two sheets of 550 x 375 mm” are made available to the candidates for the examination.
