Candidates' Weaknesses
- Inadequate mastery of the subject matter. Most candidates showed poor knowledge of the subject as a result they approached the case study question which was in question 1 as a comprehension question. Hence they copied the answers from the passage.
- Poor usage of English language: Most of the candidates could not explain
their points in simple and correct English Grammar, thus they lost
valuable marks.
SUGGESTED REMEDIES
- The candidates should be encouraged to study standard and comprehensive text books in their preparation for the examination rather than relying on ‘key-points’.
- Candidates should endeavour to learn the rules of English Grammar so as to enable them express their points clearly.
- The teachers should thoroughly teach the candidates the difference between the explains, state and list so as to enable the candidates score reasonable marks in their examination.
- well qualified teachers that studies Business Education (Secretarial Option) or secretarial studies should be employed to teach the candidates.
