  1. (a )  Who is a receptionist

    1. Explain how to handle the following categories of visitors at the reception.
    1. Caller with appointments
    2. Casual callers
    3. Emergency callers

Observation

 

This question was on the functions of a receptionist. This particular question proved difficult for the candidates especially the “B” and “C” parts of it. The candidates were expected to explain how to handle different categories of visitors in an organization.

Majority of the candidates mistook a caller for a telephone caller instead of a visitor. This is a typical example of poor interpretation of a word.

In future, teachers should teach their students on how to handle different categories of visitors in an organization. Majority of the candidates failed this particular question.
