Observation

The question was widely attempted by the candidates. Candidates performance was good. The candidates were expected to answer the question with the following points:

(a)        Significance of light in photography
-           Images are formed in the camera when the film or the sensor is exposed to light.
-           The quality of a photograph is determined by the quality of light.
-           Light helps in creating contrast and depth in a photograph.
-           Without light, there will be no photographs.
-           Light is used in creating mood in photography.
-           Light can be used for aesthetic effects.
-           To view the object to be photographed.
-           Light is used to transfer image from a negative into a photo paper in an enlarger.

-    Natural source.                                                                            
-    Artificial source.                                                                          
(ii)Examples of the sources of light

• Sunlight.
• Moonlight.
• Skylight.
• Strobe/electronic flash/flash light.
