This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was poor. In part (a)
candidates could not state factors that should be considered when planning the diet of an athlete.
In part (b )(i) many candidates wrote wrong answers such as energy giving food for post competition
food, in (b )(ii) candidates could not correctly give reason for the kind of food recommended for post
completion. In (c) candidates correctly named classes of energy-giving foods.
