Observation

This question was attempted by many candidates and their performance was fair.  In part (a)  candidates wrongly defined balanced diet as food consumed when stomach is full, filled or when you balance your food by eating in the morning, afternoon and night.  In part (b) candidates also missed the track, they mentioned foodstuffs such as yam, plaintain, bread as features of a pre-game diet. 

However, the expected answers were as follows:

1(a)      BALANCED DIET
            The diet that contains all food nutrients in adequate proportion.      
  (b)      FEATURES OF A PRE-GAME DIET

  • should contain more carbohydrate/glucose
  • should balance  -  vitamins, proteins and fat
  • should be palatable
  • should not be strange/be a familiar diet
  • should contain sufficient water
  • should contain moderate salt.
