The paper tested among other things, candidates’ understanding of geometrical construction, identification of materials and material symbols, freehand drawing, reading and interpretation of building and mechanical drawings. The questions were syllabic and unambiguous and rubrics were clearly worded. Also the marking schemes were adequate and the marks distribution was fair.
This paper therefore compared favourably with those of the previous years in terms of standard and the combination of questions. The performance of candidates however showed a marginal improvement compared to the previous years.
