Candidates' Weakness
- Scanty explanation of point
Some candidates merely listed points which were meant to be answers to the questions. Such candidates had little or no knowledge about Private Tourism Agencies, contributions of Tourism Committees to the development of tourism, strategies involved in tourism marketing and the benefits of tourism marketing.
- Incomplete coverage of the syllabus
It was observed that some candidates did not completely cover the syllabus especially aspects of gemology and lapidary, health, safety and environment, mining policy and basic mine accounting.
- Poor expression
Some candidates had poor command of the language of communication.
Suggested Remedies
(1) Where explanation, highlighting, outlining, description or stating are
required in the question, it is expected that the candidates give meaningful
explanation in order to secure full marks .
(2) Complete coverage of the syllabus
It is expected that candidates fully cover the content of the examination syllabus before the start of the examination. This will put them in a better position to attempt all necessary questions.
(3) Good expression
It is expected that the candidates express themselves well in good English. This could be mastered through the reading of English textbooks and other literatures.
