Observation
The question was avoided by many candidates. Though, few candidates that answered the question took it to be Bundu mask. The candidates were expected to answer in the following way:
(a) (i) Mali;
(ii) wood;
(iii) Bambara;
(iv) Ntomo mask.
(b) (i) used for initiation;
(ii) used for protection;
(iii) used during harvest time;
(iv) worn by boys during planting;
(v) used for entertainment.
(c) (i) The mask is decorated with patterns.
(ii) It is oval in shape.
(iii) The forehead is decorated with a nude figure of a woman.
(iv) The mask has five horns.
(v) The nose is long.
(vi) Small mouth.
(vii) Pointed chin.
(viii) 23½ in height.
(ix) Made in wood.
