Question 2

;

AIM: To verify Kirchhoff’s law in d.c circuits.

  1. Connect the circuit as shown in figure 2.
  2. Ask the supervisor to check the circuit connection.
  3. Copy Table 2 into your answer booklet

  1. Comment on the results obtained in steps (g)(i) and (g)(ii)

Observation

 The expected answers were;

(a)  Correct circuit connection

(g)       J1         =  3.00  -  (2.60  +  0.40)
                       =  0
            J2         =  3.00  -  (2.60  +  0.40)
                       =  0

(h)       The results obtained in (g) reveals that:

      • The sum of currents at node J1 is equal to zero.
      • The sum of currents at node J2 is equal to zero.

           OR
The results verified Kirchhoff’s Current Law
OR
Any other reasonable comment.

This question is on the verification of Kirchhoff’s current laws. The strengths and weaknesses candidates exhibited in question1are similar to the ones in question 2 as well.
