The weaknesses of candidates were observed in the following areas:

• Commission of grammatical mistakes
• Misinterpretation of questions
• Writing of irrelevancies
• Display of shallow knowledge of the set texts
• Inadvertent violation of rubrics

Suggested Remedies

To address the reported weaknesses, Chief Examiners recommended thorough reading of questions and rubrics, choice of simple and correct Arabic vocabulary, mastery of the correct spellings of the vocabulary and procurement of the prescribed texts for Arabic Literature.
