Most candidates were able to:
- state three locations on a drainline where an inspection chamber is required;
- list materials used for the manufacture of drain pipes
However, some of them were unable to sketch:
- the conventional symbol for the given electrical fittings;
- a section through a water-closet with a P-trap.
The expected response to question 5 is as given below:

- An inspection chamber is required on a drain line where there is a
- change in direction;
- change in gradient;
- tributary (branch) line and a main line.
