The following shortcomings were observed from the candidates’ responses:

            -           mis-interpretation of the questions;
            -           production of poor sketches;
            -           the use of notes in illustrating answers where sketches were to be used.

To overcome these weaknesses, candidates should be taught on the use of sketches in answering questions. Also, regular site visitation (which will enable them to see the practical aspect of building construction) should be encouraged.
